My name is Larry Havner and my wife Joyce and I own Monuments and More in Mountain Home, Arkansas. We are both native to Baxter County going back seven generations. Our children and grandchildren are here so I think it is safe to assume we will be here for awhile.
We purchased a family owned monument business in another town in 2002 and moved it to Mountain Home. Since that time we have worked hard to grow the business and to grow in the business. Shortly after buying and getting relocated, we attended a monument retailer’s course in Elberton, Georgia. Since that time we have attended at least two continuing education classes each year. The MAMBA convention in the summer and a MAMBA fall workshop.
We are active members of the national trade association, Monument Builders of North America (MBNA) where I am on the marketing and communications committee. I am the current president of the State level association, Mid- America Monument Builders Association (MAMBA).
As time permits we like to contribute to the documentation, restoration and preservation of some of the abandoned cemeteries in the area.
In addition to the monument sales we sell landscape rock, yard rocks with house numbers and names and pet markers. We also offer a grave maintenance service, cemetery lettering, memorial cleaning and repairs.
At Monuments and more, our primary business is monuments, markers, headstones, tombstones or whatever you choose to call them. That confusion is part of the reason for starting this blog. It is our intentions over time to answer some of the most common questions we are asked and hopefully make the task of buying a memorial for your loved one a less painful experience.
All posts on this blog will be my personal and professional opinion. You can ask any three monument builders how they do something and get three different answers. This does not make any of them wrong, it’s just what works best for them.
